Shenandoah County Property

The chapter owns 50+ acres in the Shenandoah Co. area that is used for hunting.  Members can request a permit to hunt on this property.  This was acquired in 1997 from the closure of the Annandale-Springfield Chapter, IWLA.  Click here for additional information on how to obtain additional information or permit to hunt from the chapter.  (Map of Shenandoah Co. chapter property)

The property is located at 39°04’32.8″N 78°24’52.7″W or 39.075763, -78.414651 depending on the navigation system you are using. It is south of VA 55, John Mosby Highway, northwest of Strasbourg about 8 miles west of I-81 Exit 296 on 55. A general description of the property is wooded with an up and down topography. A gis print out is available on the Chapter Web site here. More information about hunting on the property is available on the Chapter Web site (click here).

Due to the low use of the Shenandoah property, the Chapter board of directors recently started discussions on the possibility of selling the property. Before they decide, the board wants to know if more members are interested in hunting on the property or even using the property during non-hunting seasons. Please send an e-mail to arlfxiwla@gmail.com and let us know if you are interested in using the property. This will allow the board to have more information about the possible use of the property.
